Media Mayhem

First, thanks to everyone for your kind words and support for Sunny and me. We solicit your prayers as we seek God's will for our lives.

Also, Videoverse has officially launched! A sister site to the similarly-named Audioverse, this new website is a source of free sermon video clips. We already have an archive of about forty sermons with more in the works!

Over the last month or so, four new photo albums have snuck onto my photos page. I thought that now would be a good time to officially introduce them to the world wide web.
  1. Wedding Weekend. This is a supplementary album to the other one entitled "Norman and Joelle's Wedding," and mostly covers the events that happened on the Saturday before the wedding. Look for Norman's best Tiger Woods impression (or is it Barry Bonds?)!

  2. Chicago. This photo gallery attempts to capture two tourists as they embark on an urban adventure. Actually, Adrian and I only had time to visit the Sears Tower, but we also found a pretty good Indian restaurant as well. Don't miss the J.N. Andrews reenactment and Adrian's first (and hopefully last) basketball game with Michael Jordan.

  3. Capistrano Beach. These pictures are just me and my friends on a fairly typical Saturday in Southern California. My sister came to visit and we joined Advent HOPE for a beach vespers. Then we went to a restaurant for a surprise party for a friend. Happy Birthday Dave!

  4. Balboa Park. Sunny and I recently visited Balboa Park, a large city park in the middle of sunny San Diego. It features 17 museums, the San Diego Zoo, and tons of gardens and old Spanish Revival architecture. Great for photos. Especially when your name is Sunny, you own two tripods (I broke one, sorry Sunny!) and have a new dSLR. 'Nough said.

Sunny Days Are Here Again!

It is my pleasure to tell you about how the Lord has been working in my life recently. And although the ways of God are many times beyond my comprehension, I do know this much: I am so amazed at how God has led Sunny and me back together. Yes, Sunny and I have officially begun our courtship once again.

For those who are less familiar with our story, here is a quick summary. Sunny and I courted for about ten months during 2005. However, as time progressed, it became clear that we would be unable to continue seeing one another. Thus we decided to end our relationship and leave it in God's hands.

Over the past two years, Sunny and I both learned many lessons. I took the time to focus my efforts on personal issues, and, slowly but surely, I began to understand the true meaning of God's unconditional love. At the same time, God was teaching Sunny the lessons of patience, surrender, and trust.

Through a series of truly remarkable events, the Lord has led Sunny and me back together. We do not know the future but we trust that, as long as God is our foundation, He will guide us into His perfect will.

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Hymns: A Tribute

This past Sabbath, a group of friends and I were singing some songs from the hymnal before lunch. We began to discuss, and sing, our favorite hymns as well as discover some new ones that we weren't familiar with. From this impromptu hymnfest, a blog entry was born.

Although hymns aren't as popular nowadays, I have always appreciated these beautiful melodies. The lyrics are full of theological meaning and the tunes bring back so many pleasant memories. An added bonus is the ability of a group to sing four different parts and harmonize together. We just don't have songs with those qualilties anymore.

So in tribute to the beloved hymns, I've created a list of my current favorite hymns from the SDA Church hymnal.

Tim's Top Seven Favorite Hymns
  1. I Lay My Sins on Jesus (298)
  2. O For a Closer Walk (315)
  3. The Church Has One Foundation (348)
  4. Crowning Jewel of Creation (385)
  5. I Need Thee Precious Jesus (484)
  6. Every Flower That Grows (550)
  7. O Master Let Me Walk (574)

What's your favorite hymn?
