GYC Registration Is Open!

Drum roll please...

It brings me great pleasure to announce the official launch of GYC registration. This milestone could not have been achieved without the help of many dedicated people. Ki Song spent countless hours creating the site including all frontend and backend design and programming. Michael Orlich, GYC General Vice President, provided content and orchestrated the final product. And last and also least, the temporary GYC webmaster developed the convention frequently asked questions pages. Many thanks to all who were involved and may the Lord truly bless this year's conference.

OK, now that my speech is really is a good feeling to get registration up and running. We had some major hurdles during the process which Mike can attest to. Even my miniscule part of the process was fraught with danger and suspense. Mostly due to the fact that Simple Updates, a commercial CMS that uses a web interface and templates to manage web content, was hardly simple to update. Not all is their fault. Part of it stems from the amalgamation of a traditionally designed website with a specialized CMS. The rest of it probably is a reflection of my web skills. What happens is that this particular CMS forces the website administrator to give up certain privileges (all in the name of making the site more user-friendly for novices). For instance, I give up the ability to use ftp so as a result, I cannot manipulate html pages easily. So I end up having to design workarounds or simplify things for the sake of time. It's frustrating but I think we got things working all right now.

So if you've never heard of GYC or are curious about what the conference is all about, get on over to and find out what all the fuss is about. Basically, GYC is a Bible conference for committed SDA young adults who are serious about serving their Lord and would like to network with other who share a similar passion. We have inspiring meetings, specialized workshops, an exhibitor hall, and plenty of time to recommit your life to God as the new year begins. GYC will be held in Chattanooga, TN (near where I went to undergrad) from Wednesday, December 28 through Sunday, January 1. We are expecting over 2000 young people and over 50 exhibitors. You don't want to miss this event!

To register, go to and click registration. After reading through the convention FAQ, click Register Now! Then read the next page and click Register Now! again. This time a new window will open with the actual GYC registration page. Happy Registering!
